The Green Man in Purgatory
The Green Man In Purgatory
The ancient God The Green Man was a very early inspiration on Glenn’s work and is also an important character in Glenn’s Skaler Mythology, being one of the Gods believed in by both Born and Bitten Vampires. Seen here in Purgatory whilst talking to Skaler, the leaves for the illustration were collected from Worcestershire’s parks. The God’s face was based structurally on that of King Charles I and The Green Man’s beard and moustache of leaves was influenced by Cavalier fashion.
