Jasper and David

Jasper Thames QC is not the average Victorian Barrister, but one who finds a pressing need to make himself scarce suddenly when there is a full moon, and who can elicit the truth from a stubborn witness with one concealed needle toothed grin.

His friendship with the vampire Skaler brings him into contact with the dynasty of Scottish Funeral Directors, the Barecandle Family, and more specifically, young David Barecandle.  David doesn’t really want to be an undertaker, and shows an unerring interest in crime which sees him following Jasper’s cases whenever he can sneak into the Old Bailey.
